It's not easy choosing someone to present your business to the world. Being self-employed, I know the trials and joys of running and owning your own business. I am fortunate to have experienced a variety of professions over the years, from teaching to entrepreneurship. Today, my range of knowledge helps me promote your passion. This is how I got here...
A voracious reader my whole life, I honed my writing skills at University of Connecticut (BS English Education) and Wesleyan University (MALS Humanities). I began professional life as a teacher. I taught literature, writing and technology for over seven years to students from middle school age to adults.
I delved into website creation in the early 90s through UMASS Dartmouth (Certificate Online Communication Skills), when the Web was in its toddlerhood. Since then, I have learned website creation skills by doing: taking on-line courses, reading books, buying software and exploring new skills by building websites.
I attained hands-on marketing and public relations skills working for two bright, successful consultants for over 6 years. Today, I maintain those skills managing the marketing and website for my husband's full-time antique wood business, the Old Wood Workshop. I have helped my husband's business develop from a part-time hobby in 1991 to a thriving full-time enterprise that today supports our family. I have also worked as a freelance writer since 1999, mainly business-related copy writing and feature newspaper articles.
Over time, I have honed my skills with practice, earned the respect of a local clientele and gradually built a business by word of mouth. With the creation of Chanticleer Media in January 2011, I decided to "go public." Let me know how I can help you grow your business.
